Relentless Game Day
Relentless Game Day is the name of our local RPGA gaming events. These are run by Opa who organizes and judges the game tables.
This week, Devin joined our Living Greyhawk game with his new dwarf barbarian named Ba'alchrak. The first half of the game went slowly. We spent the first two hours in combat with one pesky necromancer. Eventually we got the swing of the game and had a lot of fun through the rest of it.
It is unfortunate that we do not have another Relentless Game Day scheduled till September.

OGC - Open Gaming Convention
Cap and I went down to OGC in Nashua NH to play some Living Greyhawk. OGC is convention for all types of games: RPGs, LARP, Collectible Card Games, Miniatures, etc.
We drove down at noon and arrived at the Courtyard Marriott by 1:30. We had plenty of time to get registered and poke around to see what is going on. Unfortuatly it was the first day of the Con so that where not that many people there. Most of the venders where not even setup when we arrived.
Our first game was scheduled to start at two, but these things never get going on time. When we did marshal up for our first table, we found that we where with our home Judge and a bunch of people we had played with before. It was nice that we where already familiar with each other, but we had come to the con to play with new people.
The first game went well (nobody died). After that we went to dinner at a local Boston Market with a couple we play with from the game. While eating dinner we realized that one of the game authors and a Triad member where sitting right behind us. The Triads are the leaders of the local gaming area. They are in charge of executing all events in the New England area. So we where able to talk to them about the game we played (that he wrote) and get feed back on how we went through it.
This really is what going to a con is all about. Meeting people who are involved with the games and talking with them.
The next game table started at 8:00. This game was a lot tougher then the previous one. Cap nearly lost his character. He was saved by a lucky tumble role. Had he lost and could not afford the resurrection, that would have been the end of it. However, we made it through relatively unscathed. It was now midnight and Cap and I had the choice to go home or stay around for one more game. We chose to stay.
These games are called "Midnight Madness" because they start at midnight and everyone starts feeling so tired that rules start braking and people do crazy things. Cap's character just gained third level and had a whole bunch of new abilities that where a complete mystery for us. The adventure started out fine but as 2:00 and 3:00 AM rolled by things started coming apart. The youngest member of the party feel asleep in his chair and another member we stuck without any armor on. We nearly did not make it out of the last combat alive.
After that last game we rubbed our eyes and drove home. It was a very fun, but long day. I enjoyed OGC a lot. I can not wait for the next one. Perhaps next time we will stick around for the entire weekend. This time, one day was enough.

We broke D&D
Today we had another Living Greyhawk mod. I do not want to give away too much of the story, but we were sent out to fight some bandits. They were hold up in a old fortress near the places they were attacking.
So instead of fighting them, we agreed that we had similar goals. They could not receive help from us at this time ether. So that was the end of the mod. No fighting, no conflict and not much adventure.
We blame the mode writer for not doing a very god job of writing it.

CSI: Bissel
These week's Living Greyhawk game was fantastic. The scenario was a mysterious death of a high ranking nobel. The family of the deceased calmed the death was natural and refused to let the authorities investigate.
After being deputized by a local law official, my party aided in the investigation. This lead to a three way "who done it" with some of the most powerful families in the region.
The party did a fantastic job collecting clues and interrogating suspects. In the end we think we fingered the right person. I am not going to give away who it was.
